Our Performing Arts
(Acting) students gave an added twist to the well known fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, with a unique take on Carol Ann Duffy’s adaptations of the familiar bedtime stories. To create an intimate atmosphere in the theatre, the audience were seated all the way around the stage for a close-up view of the production.
A variety of performances have been staged by our students during the past few months, including musical theatre productions and a groundbreaking play called ‘Road’.
Set in an unnamed northern location, the story gives a voice to an eclectic group of working class characters, stuck on a road with no escape. The audience gains insight into their dreams, struggles and memories, as relevant today as when it was written in the 1980s. Congratulations to all involved. Remember to keep a look out for dates of future productions coming up during the next academic year.
