Vice-Principal of Curriculum
Jim Mawby attended Sussex university in 1992, where he studied Physics with Astrophysics. After a period teaching in the FE sector, he returned to postgraduate study at Glasgow University, where he obtained a Masters and a PhD in Philosophy and the Philosophy of Mathematics respectively. He worked at Glasgow and Stirling universities before returning to the FE sector, taking a post managing the mathematics provision at West Kent College in 2006.
Since then he has held a range of management posts at the college, managing a broad section of the curriculum, from Entry level to Higher Education. He worked as a Deputy Head of Faculty in the faculty of Business Admin. and Academic Studies, before taking over the faculty in 2013. He then stood as Head of Faculty for several incarnations of the Faculty of Academic Studies until 2017, when he was appointed to the role of Interim Vice Principal for Curriculum at West Kent and Ashford College in April 2017 and confirmed in post in October 2017
