Joe Gibson

Lecturer

Joe has been working as a guitarist for over 20 years. He has studied and performed in a range of musical styles and contexts, working extensively in the UK and internationally. His experience includes working and performing with such artists as James Brown, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamie Cullum, Altered Images, Hamish Stewart (Average White Band), Andy Newmark (Sly & The Family Stone), Daniel Pearce (Dizzee Rascal, Sigma) and Matt Berry (UK tour with 'Matt Berry and the Maypoles')

Joe is part of the original band 'David Migden & The Twisted Roots'. They have gained critical acclaim nationally and internationally and have performed at all the major UK Blues festivals as well as representing the UK for European Blues artists in Riga and performing at the Harvest Jazz & Blues festival in Canada. Joe is also a member of the Soul Funk band for Reuben James Richards and performs regularly in London venues such as Boisdale Jazz & Blues club (patron Jools Holland), The Hideaway and Quaglino's. Session and performance work has also included support gigs for artists such as Maceo Parker, Paul Young and Newton Faulkner, providing guitar for a song on the closing credits of the film 'Mr Nice' and TV work for the BBC, performing in the band for an episode of the highly acclaimed drama 'MotherFatherSon' starring Richard Gere.

Joe also performs in bands for high profile function work, clients including The Princes Trust and ITV. Joe continues to perform regularly around the UK.
