Education (HE)

Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas are well established qualifications designed for people who do not have the qualifications to enter a university-level programme, but who do have life experience and a willingness to learn.

The courses are designed for students aged 19+ and enable the College to, as far as possible, put together a programme of study which best suits their needs. They aim to prepare students for a wide range of studies at university build confidence and abilities in literacy, numeracy, IT, research and study skills.  They are equivalent to A-Levels. Learners accumulate credits throughout the course towards the Access Diploma awarded by Laser Learning Awards.

Your Career

Students on the Access to Higher Education Course progress onto University to study a breadth of subjects. Previous students have gone on to study everything from Business to Sports Science, from English Literature to Radiography and Computer Science to Nursing and Midwifery.
