Art student painting a portrait

Demand for professionals in the creative and digital media industries is expected to grow rapidly within the next few years, with many roles requiring a Level 3 or degree level qualification. As a sector it offers a number of vibrant and exciting opportunities with major employers and is one of the South-East’s priority sectors.

The art and design provision at West Kent College is strong and well-resourced, with excellent facilities and a creative and inspiring environment. As a student, you may have the chance to work with clients on live assignments with clients, practising artists and designers. Plus, our own successful summer exhibition will provide you with a genuine experience of showcasing your artwork to the public. The practical approach to teaching and high level of support you will receive, will equip you to progress on to the next level and ultimately a university-level programme.

Guest Talks

Graphic Design - G.F Smith Papers

Representatives from G.F Smith come into the college to discuss their high quality paper production.

Student Nicole Broad, studying the HND Graphic Design says, "I always like having the workshop from G.F Smith as they bring samples of the paper they talk about. By having that visual interaction within the talk it allows us to see and feel the different paper types and what they are best used for."
