Work on a range of media projects as you discover the diverse nature of the creative media industries, whilst improving your English and maths and developing your teamwork and creative skills.

A variety of practical creative projects will give you experience of video production, digital photography, animation, drawing and basic website design.

You will also look at the job opportunities in creative media industries to help you decide what course to study next. The course will also help develop your employability skills through teamwork, group projects and presentations of your creative ideas.

To support your studies you will attend a variety of College visits, which may include exhibitions, museums, film and TV studios.

This will help you to develop the core skills for your progression to Level 2 programme, providing you achieve a Merit or Distinction, alongside gaining qualifications in English and maths.

At the end of your course, your work will be exhibited in the College end of year show.

Progress to a Level 2 programme, in Creative Media or Art and Design, providing you achieve a Merit or Distinction and GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths at Level 1 or 2.

You will need four GCSEs at Grades D-G/3-1, including English and maths at minimum Grade E/2.

You will be required to attend an interview and present work from a pre-interview task. You also need a positive recommendation or reference from your school/tutor.
