A practical course, delivered in well-equipped workshops, to develop the practical skills and knowledge you need to work in the plumbing industry.

As well as health and safety, communication skills and basic scientific and electrical principles and processes, you will cover:

• Common plumbing processes
• Cold and domestic hot water systems
• Drainage systems
• Central heating
• Environmental Awareness

English and maths are an important part of the course, whether at a functional skills or GCSE level.

You will take workshop assessments at College and externally set examinations. Supported work experience arranged with tutor.

Progress on to Intermediate Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating, followed by Intermediate or Advanced Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating.


You will need Level 1 in Plumbing, GCSE Grade C/4 or above in both English and maths (or Functional skills Level 2) also a Grade C/4 or above in science is preferable but not essential.
