Prepare for a career in the motorcycle industry as either a technician or associated motor industry employment.

You will discover how to meet health and safety requirements in the workshop and learn how to:

• Carry out routine motorcycle maintenance
• Remove and replace units and components relating to engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes and electrical and electronic systems

You will be assessed by practical and written tasks and externally set examinations.

Supported work experience is arranged with your tutor.

Progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair, or enter employment or Advanced Apprenticeship.

You will need four GCSEs at Grades D/3 or above, including English and maths. Alternatively, a Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance with D/3 GCSE in English and maths or functional skills Level 2.

Initial assessments in English, maths and ICT at Level 1 or working towards level 2. You should have an enthusiasm for Motor Vehicle and a desire for a career in the industry.
