Involving Parents -
What You Can Expect

Those students under the age of 18 on the 31st August prior to the start of their course, will be deemed under 18 for the duration of the course. For those students we will contact you to discuss any concerns we may have and where necessary, will arrange a meeting. For those students over the age of 18 on the 31st August prior to the start of their course, this can only be done with their consent.

If you wish to discuss anything with us, please contact the Personal Tutor or the Head of Faculty, for whom the contact details are included in the Parent, Carer and Guardian Welcome Letter.

Academic Review Evenings

The aim of these evenings is to give you the opportunity to meet with Tutors to discuss student progress. For those students over the age of 18, on 31st August at the start of the course, you will need their permission for this.

Academic Review Evenings will be held on the following date:

Monday 27th January 2020 (5pm-7.30pm)

The event will be organised within each curriculum area in order to provide an opportunity to:

  • Visit specific curriculum areas and see students’ work to give you a better understanding of the course and the types of activities students undertake
  • Meet members of the course team and informally discuss student progress. If you require it, you can make a formal appointment with the Personal Tutor via your son/daughter.

In addition to the Academic Review Evenings you will have access to written progress reports for your son/daughter during the academic year, sent out prior to the academic review evening.

For those students over the age of 18, on 31st August at the start of the course, you will need their permission for this.

We value your involvement in the course and at key points in the year we may seek feedback from you in the form of a survey or questionnaire.
