Whatever your study programme, personal needs and interests, we're focused on giving you a positive student experience from your initial interest right through until your graduation and beyond.
Our Freshers' Week includes social events that will help you meet and get to know other university-level students, regardless of whether they are studying at West Kent College or one of our sister colleges across the Hadlow Group.
Garrards Bar at Hadlow College will host a welcome lunch, as well as a music evening with a live band and a party night. At West Kent College, the Artisan Restaurant at West Kent College will host a welcome lunch. You are also invited to an evening in one of the local towns to experience the bars and clubs they have to offer.
During Freshers' Week we encourage you to get out and about in Kent and get to know your local community. A Tourist Information Desk will be at the College with lots of information to share with you. There are lots of local country pubs and social venues where you and your peers, or your family, can relax and socialise throughout the year. In addition to there are numerous shops and amenities all accessible to you.
The Fitness Suite at West Kent College will be open throughout the week for Health and Fitness assessments, gym inductions and offering gym and exercise classes. Keep an eye out for the Gym Challenge for your opportunity to win a free pass for the year. We also offer taster sessions in a range of different sports, for example yoga, table tennis and tennis and the opportunity to be part of competitive teams in rugby, netball and football.
