AM2 Relief Examiner

From 2017, Ashford College will be relocating to a brand new state-of the-art campus at Elwick Road, in the town centre. With £26 million of investment, the 7,135m² campus will accommodate over 1000 students and is one of Ashford’s ‘Big 8’ projects, set to regenerate the centre of the town.

About the role

We are looking for an AM2 Relief Examiner to join our Sustainable Technologies team.

As an AM2 Relief Examiner, you will provide cover for the AM2 Examiner in the event of holiday or sickness and will be required to work as a part of a team in the Electrical Installation curriculum area assessing workplace students taking the Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) Skill Test.

The ideal candidate will need to hold NVQ Level 3 Installing and Commissioning Electrical Systems and Equipment or C&G 2360 Part 2 Certificate, or an industry recognised equivalent of either of the above. It is essential that you have  a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience post-initial technical training or apprenticeship.   You will need to hold a current ECS Electricians Grade card.

An Assessor Award A1 (formally D32/33) is required,  or the willingness to achieve within 6 months of appointment. Along with the Assessors award you should have  recognised qualification relating to knowledge and understanding of the current edition of BS 7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations, (IET Wiring Regulations) including amendments.  You will need to hold a current first aid certificate which is compliant with the 1981 First Aid Regulations. Level 2 English and maths is required.

The hours required are variable up to 37 hours per week.
